Hua'erdi Fm
Type Locality and Naming
NW Gansu-south Qinghai border region (middle Qilian). The Hua'erdi Fm was named by Qian Jiaqi and Gong Baojun in 1986. The type section is situated at Hua'erdi (east of Liuhuang Mt.). Suli Township, Tianjun County, Qinghai Province. Uppermost formation in Tuolainanshan Gr.
Synonym: (花儿地组), Huaerdi Fm
Lithology and Thickness
In the type section, it is composed of carbonate rock, including lithological grey, grey-black microcrystalline limestone and dolomite, intercalated with slate locally. It recorded for 367 m thick. It is laterally stable lithologically, but changeable in thickness from 361 to 2383 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It is in conformable contact with underlying Nanbaishuihe Fm.
Upper contact
Disconformably overlain by the Qitadaban Fm of lower Qingbaikouan.
Regional extent
NW Gansu-south Qinghai border region (middle Qilian). The formation is distributed at Daxue Mt. and Tuolainanshan Mt.

Fossils
The stromatolites in it are: Baicalia baicalica, Svetliella acuta, Litia robusta, Huaerdiella geppii etc. Microplants: Asperatopsophosphaera umishanensis, Microconcentrica induplicata, Laminarites antiquissimus, Trachysphaeridium incrassatum etc.
